Halloweensie 2021

Yesterday, I wrote a Halloweensie entry, accidentally using last year's words! Oops! I thought A FRIEND FOR ANKOU deserved a spot on the blog regardless, so if you want to check it out, click here.

After regrouping, I gave it another go! Today my family and I carved jack-o-lanterns, did a haunted house craft, and watched Halloween movies. It put me in the spirit and inspiration came to me!

This is my first time participating in Susanna Hill's Halloweensie Contest. If you are interested in participating, or just want to read some of the other amazing entries, click here!

BRAM'S HUNT (100 words)

Bram despises Halloween.

Trick-or-treaters with plastic fangs, fake blood, and cheap capes, mocking him.

A true vampire would never reveal his identity for some goodies.

Only for…

Blood.

The anticipation sends goosebumps down his spine.

The time has come.

POOF!

In bat form, Bram soars over the treetops, looking for his next victim.

He spies a trick-or-treater, cape flowing, glow-in-the-dark necklace illuminating his face.

Bram swoops, cutting through the dark sky like a knife.

He unfurls his wings, transforming before the child’s eyes.

Fangs gleaming in the moonlight.

“Finally, something I can sink my teeth into.”

“NOOOO!”

And then,

silence.
